Enhance and personalize marketing with Customer Fields and Yotpo
By connecting the Customer Fields app to Yotpo's Email Marketing & SMS app, you can create more customized marketing campaigns by using extra data collected on a custom registration form.
For example, if you're selling pet supplies, you can ask your customers if they are dog or cat owners. You can then use this data to segment customers or create a custom flow in Yotpo, and send each customer ads and offers that are most relevant to the type of pet they have. Selling clothing? You can collect sizes and genders to suggest clothes and accessories tailored to your customer's preferences!
How to set up Zapier connections to the apps
Connect Customer Fields to Zapier
The first step is to connect Customer Fields to Zapier, a popular automation tool. This will allow you to easily transfer data and events from Customer Fields to Yotpo.
Note: You will need to be on the app's 'Pro' plan to connect with Zapier.
Log in to your Zapier account
Search for Customer Fields from the My Apps page, or search for Customer Fields when creating a new zap. In either case, you should see a result for Customer Fields.
You can also find Customer Fields on Zapier using this link: https://zapier.com/app/connections/customer-fields
Once you select Customer Fields and add a new connection, a new window will open and may ask you to log in or confirm your store URL to authorize.
After you have authorized a Zapier connection, you can start creating and configuring zaps using the Customer Fields app!
Connect Zapier to Yotpo
Now that you have connected Customer Fields to Zapier, the next step is to connect Zapier to Yotpo. You will essentially follow the same steps as above, for connecting a new app, just using Yotpo this time instead of Customer Fields.
Search for Yotpo from the My Apps page, or search for Yotpo when creating a new zap.
You can also set up a new connection directly from Yotpo's Zapier page: https://zapier.com/app/connections/yotpo

Example Use Cases
Now that you have connected to both Customer Fields and Yotpo, you can begin building automations! Here are a couple of examples of how you can use this integration to enhance your marketing.
Example 1
Update custom profile properties in Yotpo using values from a Customer Fields form
Let's say you have a registration form on your website where customers can provide their preferences and interests. With this integration, you can automatically update their custom profile properties in Yotpo with the data collected. This will allow you to tailor your marketing efforts to each individual customer, making them feel more connected to your brand.
To accomplish this, you may want to use a Customer Fields trigger in Zapier for New form submission in Customer Fields. You can set up this trigger to watch for submissions from a specific form, and all of the fields on this form will be provided in Zapier as variables which can be forwarded into Yotpo.
To get these form variables into Yotpo, you will now need to set up an action for Update customer profile properties in Yotpo. You can choose which information to add to the Yotpo profile, but we especially want to highlight the option here to include custom properties.
Example 2
Trigger a custom event such as an automation in Yotpo when a form is submitted
You can also use this integration to trigger custom events in Yotpo when a form is submitted through Customer Fields. For example, you can set up an automation to send a personalized email to the customer based on the information they provided in the form. This will help you create a more personalized and engaging customer experience.
In this example, we will continue using the New form submission in Customer Fields trigger but change the action to Create custom customer event in Yotpo.
Keep in mind that this Zapier action will only create the event itself in Yotpo, to have this trigger a marketing automation, you will need to set up the automation itself directly in the Yotpo app. Here's Yotpo's guide for using custom events as a trigger: https://support.yotpo.com/docs/custom-triggers#activating-flows-with-custom-triggers
