Email senders and authentication

Learn how to connect a custom sender domain so Customer Fields emails are sent from your own domain instead of the default address.

Customer Fields uses Postmark as our Email Service Provider. The following customer-facing emails are sent by Customer Fields and will come from noreply@customerfields.com by default:

  • Application received - Sent to a customer when they submit a form for account approval.

  • Application rejected - Sent to a customer when their account application is denied.

  • Application approved - Sent to a customer when their account application is approved.

  • Account verification - Sent to an existing customer when their email must be verified.

For a full list of emails triggered and templates used by Customer Fields, see our Email templates article.

📝 Please note, these are customer-facing emails only. Admin notifications sent to your store's staff are not affected by the settings on this page.

Connect a custom sender domain

If you would like to send these emails from your own domain instead, you can connect a custom sender domain by following the steps below:

2. Under Customer email sender, select Connect custom email domain:

3. Enter the sender email address you'd like to use, then click Send verification email:

4. Verify the email address, then select Get started to begin connecting your domain:

5. Add the DNS records shown during the setup process to your domain's DNS settings. This process will vary depending on your domain provider and you may need to contact them directly if you need assistance.

Once the DNS records have been added and propagated, click Verify to complete the setup. Propagation normally happens almost immediately but may take up to 48 hours.

After your custom sender domain has been verified, Customer Fields emails should be sent from your chosen email address.

📝 Please note that when using a custom sender domain, only Customer Fields users whose email addresses belong to that same domain will be available in the From dropdown when sending approval or rejection emails

Legacy SendGrid customers

If you installed Customer Fields before August 12th, 2026, then your shop may be using our old email service provider, Sendgrid. If you would like to migrate to our Postmark service for domain verification, please reach out to our support and request to be migrated to Postmark.
