The good folks over at CustomerHub have built a direct integration with Customer Fields!

CustomerHub is an app that allows you to customize the customer account page with data from other apps you use on your Shopify store. As of this article's publish date, CustomerHub integrates with 43 apps and counting, making it easier than ever for you to display essential information for your customers on the account page.

How to display data from Customer Fields on the customer account page using the CustomerHub integration

You can sync your custom data to display the customer's data on the accounts page in two different ways:

Account header

First, in the account page header, you can select three custom fields to show at the top (e.g. birthday, profile picture, or favorite color).

Personal information

Second, in the Personal Information section, any other custom fields that are selected will show for the customer under Other Information.

The Customer Fields integration is also designed to replace the standard form from CustomerHub with the edit account form you can set up in our app (this edit account form can be set up using any Customer Fields plan). The standard CustomerHub form has the Shopify registration field defaults (First Name, Last Name, Email, and Accepts Marketing). With our app integration, customers can manage all of the desired details within their profile in CustomerHub.

Integration instructions

Note: Before we begin, you must be on a Customer Fields plan that allows integrations to connect with CustomerHub to show custom data on the account page.

When you install CustomerHub on your store, you will be asked a couple of questions before the installation to your theme takes place. CustomerHub uses Shopify's App Embeds to toggle installation on your theme; you can use the quick links in the embed to quickly go to the integration page within CustomerHub.

Once you’re on the integrations page, you will see Customer Fields and a button to set up the app. If you have Customer Fields installed already, you will see a simple “toggle” button to enable the integration.

Click on the “Setup” button to show a modal window that will overlay on the screen. From there simply toggle the button to enable the integration.

From there, head on over to the Configuration tab. While there, you’ll find the last tab called “Display Data”. We’ll talk about that in the next section.

Display data

Display Data is the panel in Configuration that displays Customer Fields custom data seen in our first two examples: Account Header and Personal Information. Navigate to the "Display Data" tab to authorize access with Customer Fields.

Once you have finished authorization, you will see our app's custom data columns which you can use to pull in custom field data for your customer’s profiles.

A quick recap of what we talked about at the beginning of this article: you can sync your custom data fields to display customer data in Customer Hub in two different ways:

  • First, in the account page header, you can select three custom fields to show at the top (e.g. birthday, profile picture, or favorite color).

  • Second, in the Personal Information section, any other fields that are selected will show for the customer under Other Information.

Now you can display your custom data to your customers in minutes using Customer Fields and CustomerHub!
