Backup a form

You can download a backup of a form in Customer Fields using the following steps:

  1. Go to the Forms page in the app and click on the 'Edit' button for the form you want to backup

  2. Click the 'Settings' tab

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the Backup section

  4. Click the 'Download backup' button. This will export the most recent revision of your form to a .json file which will be automatically downloaded to your computer.

See example below:

Once you have downloaded a backup, you can import it when creating a new form in the app. This is helpful if you want to copy forms between two different stores that have Customer Fields installed.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Forms page in the app and click on the 'Add form' button

  2. In the 'Select your template section', click the button for 'Import from a backup'

  3. Find the .json form backup on your computer

  4. Once uploaded, the app will create a form using all of the data from the from backup. It will also create any necessary data columns that are being used by the fields in the form you're importing.

See example below:

✍️ Notes:

  • The revision history will not be transferred when importing a form. This is because when you download a form backup, you are downloading the most recently version of the form.

  • Please keep in mind that each store using Customer Fields can be on different plans. Make sure that the store you're importing into is on the correct plan before importing a form πŸ‘
