Use Zapier to integrate Customer Fields with over 5,000 other apps

Zapier is integrated with over 5,000 apps, so there's a good chance the app you need to connect with Customer Fields is already supported by Zapier! 😎

Getting started with Zapier

If you're entirely new to Zapier it might be a good idea to learn more about their system using their help center. Zapier has put together a great guide with some very useful information for those getting started. You can find this guide using the button below:

Steps to connect Zapier to your store

Here are some simple steps for connecting Customer Fields to Zapier:

  • Log in to your Zapier account

  • Search for Customer Fields from the My Apps page, or search for Customer Fields when creating a new zap. In either case, you should see a result for Customer Fields.

  • You can also find Customer Fields on Zapier using this link: https://zapier.com/apps/customer-fields/integrations

  • Once you select Customer Fields, a new window will open asking you to log in or confirm your store URL. Once you continue, you will need to click the Authorize button to allow Zapier to connect to your store.

Note: You will need to be on the app's 'Pro' plan in order to connect with Zapier.

After you have authorized Zapier, you can start creating and configuring zaps using the Customer Fields app!

Configure your zaps

Apps that are integrated with Zapier can include options for Triggers, Actions, and Searches. "Zaps" created in Zapier use these triggers, actions, and searches to perform all sorts of useful tasks in an automated fashion. See the details below for more information on the specific options for zaps available within Customer Fields.

⏱️ Triggers

There are 5 separate Customer Fields (CF) triggers available in Zapier:

  1. New Form Submission - triggers when a customer submits a specific CF form. To configure this trigger, select a form and then pull in some submission data to create your zap.

  2. New Customer - triggers when a new customer is created in CF. To configure this trigger, pull in some data for a new customer to create your zap.

  3. Updated Customer - triggers when a customer is updated in CF. To configure this trigger, pull in some data for a recently updated customer to create your zap.

  4. Customer Added to Segment - triggers when a customer is added to a new segment in CF. To configure this trigger, select your segment (no segments with custom events or relative date filters will be shown) and then pull in some data to create your zap.

  5. Customer Event Occurred - triggers when a specific customer event occurs in CF. To configure this trigger, select your desired customer event and pull in some data to create your zap.

πŸ› οΈ Actions

There are 3 separate Customer Fields actions available in Zapier:

Create Customer - creates a new customer record in Customer Fields (and Shopify). To configure this action, you will want to map data to the 'First name', 'Last name', and 'Email' data columns. You can also select a form to show its data columns, or alternatively, show all data columns. Use these data columns to map data when creating your zap.

Update Customer - updates a new customer record in Customer Fields (and Shopify). To configure this action, you need to define the Shopify ID or Customer ID to specify which customer to update. Once you specify the Customer ID, you can select a form to show its data columns, or alternatively, show all data columns. You can then use these data columns to map data when creating your zap.

Pro tip: Since a Customer ID is required when performing this action, it's best to use the Find customer search (mentioned below) first, this way you can get a Customer ID in your data-set.

Send Account Invite - sends an email to a customer to activate their account. This action will trigger the Shopify store to send its regular 'Customer account invite' email. To configure this action you will need to specify a Customer ID, so you may want to use one of the Searches first unless you already have the ID in your data-set.

πŸ” Searches

There are 2 separate Customer Fields searches available in Zapier:

Find a Customer - searches for a customer in Customer Fields using a certain field. To configure this action, you will need to specify which field you want to use for your search:

  • Shopify Customer ID

  • Customer Fields ID

  • Email address

  • Phone number

Find or Create Customer - searches for a customer in Customer Fields using a certain field, and optionally creates a new customer record in CF/Shopify if no match is found. To configure this action, you will need to specify which field you want to use for your search:

  • Shopify Customer ID

  • Customer Fields ID

  • Email address

  • Phone number

You also have the option to create a new customer if no customer is found. Again you have the option to select a form to show its data columns, or alternatively, show all data columns. You can then use these data columns to map data when creating your zap.
